Renaud Lavillenie, born on September 18, 1986, is a French pole vaulter who has participated in several Olympic Games. He won the gold medal in the pole vault at the 2012 London Olympics and also won a silver medal in the event at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Lavillenie is considered one of the best pole vaulters in the world, having set multiple world records and won numerous international competitions. He holds the indoor world record with a height of 6.16 meters, which he set in 2014, and also has the outdoor European record with a jump of 6.05 meters.
In addition to his Olympic success, Lavillenie has also won multiple gold medals at the European Athletics Championships and the IAAF World Indoor Championships. He is known for his technically precise jumping style and intense competitive spirit.
